Stamp Commission

I had so much fun designing and making these and I love how they turned out! I had never seriously drawn food before so I spent a lot of time on seed and leaf shapes and orientation. The shapes are cut out of thin foam sheets and then mounted on repurposed wood moulding sample tiles. My patroness was super excited which is so incredibly satisfying. I love to make for people. I love that what I love to do can make someone else happy. Happiness is truly the end goal here. Well happiness and empowerment of others to create for themselves, which is another reason why this project was so fun, she will now take those stamps I made and go out and make some more! Ah, the DIY cycle. Making is way more addictive than passively consuming.

Ah, grapes. A fruit that can produce something as delicious as wine must be represented.

I love these!

I put a couple mini versions of the designs on the back of the stamps.

Apple bag. Ran a bit of fabric through the serger and whipped up this cute little bag to store the fruit stamps in. The stamps I used on the bags were testers on scrap wood backings. I just dabbed on acrylic paint and then heat set between paper.

And on the back of the bag a Pear stamp. The colors are mixed right on the stamp while applying the paint with a brush.

Business Cards!

So this is actually the last one I have so it is a bit worse for wear. I will be making up another batch soon. Scrap unbleached paper stamped with found landscape architecture stamps with choice foliage colored with pencil. Each card comes our different. The text is a combination of single letter stamps and one of those set your own stamps you can get from an office supply store. It is intended as a return address stamp which was really helpful when I used to move around a bunch!

And the back.

Halloween!

We had a ton of fun carving pumpkins and decorating for our halloween party! We even had dry ice and woodland creature cookies shaped like hedgehogs, squirrels, foxes and moose! Awesome! My favorite creation was the large papier mache spider strung on our tree in the corner of our yard. Yay! I dressed as a fish and E a sailor. Everyone had such awesome costumes, I love Halloween.
